# Unsupported Countries: Exceptions & How It Works

> How the Fizen Card handles exceptions for unsupported countries, and what to expect when paying merchants in those regions.

If you are a citizen of a [restricted country](/help-center/fizen-card/unsupported-countries) but **currently live in a supported country**, you may still be eligible for a Fizen Card.

## How it works

During KYC, select your **country of residency** (not your home country) and submit valid proof of residency.

**Accepted documents:**

* Residence permit / resident card
* Eligible long-term visa (where permitted)
* Local driver's license issued by your country of residence
* Other official government-issued residency documents (case-by-case)

Approval is subject to compliance checks. Fizen reserves the right to request additional documents or decline applications based on regulatory requirements.
